'Living' Room

The slumber of the ceiling was broken by the nudging of the bulb on the right wall. As it complainingly looked back, the tiny pale face of the bulb lit up innocently and it could not help but listen to the same request he had heard day after day and year after year...

With a grumpy face, it moved and twisted to free its finger from below its white cover, and poked its finger...right into the nose of the tube light on the left wall. Obviously, the tubelight sneezed. Soo loud, that the poor fan had goosebumps all over and had to run his three fins atop one another to ease them out...!!!He was about to yell at them in anger, when they sensed some motion underneath...all fell silent...until, peace was restored...

NOW! began the game...the tube light doubled as a bat and the bulb became a ball as usual! (Cricket was the in thing u see) They had hardly played for a while when the mirror bag who used to hang around in the corner all the time shyly came walking.

"Please let me play too...", she said. The bulb and the tube light contemplated for a moment and decided they could do with a fielder. So she was in too!!!

they had played for a while when the tube hit an awesome six...and the bulb went flying out to the wall...the door, windows and closets were exited...multicolored banners flew around as the air filled with whistles and hoots...

Then,

I got up...in the dim light coming from the corridor, i could not see much...but the room was in order. Wonder what caused me to get up then...I was looking around when a stray mosquito buzzed around in my ear as if intent on letting me know something...I quickly shoved it away with a quick stroke of my hand and dug up in the blanket again.

Angry accusing looks were exchanged...what if they were caught? The bulb shivering came out from under the bed...it had to hide in there at the last moment...Large scale blaming and cribbing started...fingers pointing towards one another, angrily arched eyebrows, muted growls...err....grumblings... At last the fan could take no more...it moved around its three fins together, trying to quieten the involved parties...Now, he was the 'center' of authority... so all agreed to play happily with him keeping a watchful eye 'over' the master of the room.

Morning,

I got up with the screeching of the alarm...a good hour before the lectures began...I looked around lazily and thought of the night before...laughing at my silly dream, i decided i would put on the night bulb i had brought the other day. I picked up the shopping bag and took out the bulb carton (or whatever it is called) and was shocked to see it empty!!! i looked around to see if it had slipped out in the bag someplace but it had not...hmm...i stood wondering how i could have brought in an empty carton thinking it was full...when...i happened to look at the night bulb holder on the wall........!!!!!

The bulb was FIXED....I swear i dont remember doing it...of course i dint fix it up there...who did then??? No one else had come in since a week...

Did the bulb, itself...

FINALLY...

I got up with a start covered in sweat...not able to see much in the dim light of the hostel corridor...i looked up at the night bulb holder, it was empty...for a moment i thought i could check for the bulb hiding under the bed, but dismissed the idea as soon as it came...

Anyhow, I decided to sleep again and cuddled Barnie to go off to sleep again.

"he he he!!!" Did I not hear THAT??? Of course I did...I sat up & looked around...

"he he he!!!" it came again...i turned towards the direction it came from...there was Barnie, smiling ...with his pick ears cropped up...

Ah! my room lives...

I can imagine the fan complaining, the ceiling poking out a finger and the bulb 'lighting up innocently' as i read this.
